Historical and Cultural Heritage

Nansha Bay has abundant cultural heritage resources, including protected cultural relics at multiple levels and intangible cultural heritage. Its immovable cultural relics include four national-level sites such as the Upper Hengdang Fort, Lower Hengdang Fort, Dajiao Fort and Puzhou Fort, as well as the Lujing Site, a district-registered cultural relic. Its intangible cultural heritage includes the provincial-level Nansha Mazu folk belief, municipal-level Guangzhou saltwater songs, Nansha dragon boat racing, gambiered Canton gauze dyeing and finishing techniques, Nansha water-town wedding customs, and district-level traditional Tanka snack-making techniques in Nansha.
